What is Faith?

For many people, faith isn’t just about what happens after we die. It’s about finding joy, purpose, and strength in our everyday lives. It’s about finding a sense of belonging and community – somewhere we can celebrate when life is going well, and be comforted and encouraged when we’re facing challenges. It’s about looking for answers to life’s mysteries: Why am I here? What should I do with my life? What does it all mean?

Exploring faith in Jesus is a journey of discovering the story of humanity – a story that tells us each one of us is here for a reason and deeply loved by God. It’s an adventure that invites us to pause, reflect, and find genuine hope for the future.

Sally

A friend’s comment at a coffee date led Sally to question everything. Wrestling with depression and a lack of purpose, Sally took her questions to Alpha and discovered that faith and doubt can coexist.

Dr Tridiv

From his hospital bed after being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, Dr. Tridiv cried out to God – and was soon declared in full remission. At Alpha, he put his faith in Jesus.

Sia

Sia, a single mum and ultra-marathon runner, had been chasing God her whole life. After attending Alpha, she realised he had been beside her the whole time.

Nick

Nick’s life was marked by grief, addiction and despair. At rock bottom, he visited a church and was encouraged to try Alpha. Nick decided to follow Jesus, and is now living in healing and wholeness.

Rikki

Living for the weekend, Rikki encountered Jesus while attending Alpha and found the burden of her shame and guilt become light.

Chilli & Elke

As a teenager, Chilli explored faith through Alpha Youth at school. She and her mum, Elke, grew closer as their family rediscovered their Catholic faith through their community.

Neerav

Neerav unexpectedly encountered Jesus after seeing a Christmas light show. Through Alpha, he explored the claims of the Bible and found a home for his faith.

Evelyn

Struggling with depression and a stressful job, Evelyn began talking to God like a friend. Alpha helped her discover the truth about her life – that God had always been with her, and would love her in any stage of life.
