Each Alpha session covers a different topic designed to engage and inspire conversation. The videos explore ideas around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as ‘Who is Jesus?’, ‘How can we have faith?’ and ‘How does God guide us?’

How do I run Alpha?

Get Started Running Alpha

Pray

1. Pray without ceasing

“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” – James 5:16 (NIV)

Alpha is birthed in prayer and backed by prayer. Form a team and ask them to pray for each guest by name, covering the sessions, your team, and the entire journey in prayer.

2. Get access to the series

Alpha is 100% free, and all the resources and training are available to you now via MyAlpha – the learning centre, series videos, resources, training videos, and promotional materials. You can also promote your Alpha so that anyone searching can find a place to explore faith.

If you’re running Life Essentials, all resources are available on AlphaOne. If you’re running a Marriage and Parenting Course, access resources on Course Builder.

3. Build and train your team

The best preparation you can do is to train your team, especially your hosts and helpers, so they understand the heart of Alpha and how to facilitate open conversations. We’re here to help support, coach and equip your team.

Take time with your team to plan each week of your Alpha journey. A well-planned session ensures your guests feel comfortable and confident in their Alpha experience.
