The Opportunity of Easter

The way we see things shapes everything.

Two people can look at the same moment and walk away with completely different perspectives. Two people can share the same experience, yet respond in entirely different ways.

As Easter approaches, many of us are aware of those who might only engage with church once or twice a year – the so-called CEO (Christmas and Easter Only) Christians.

It can be easy to feel discouraged by that. To wish they would experience more. To wonder why their faith hasn’t gone deeper.

But what if we chose to see this differently?

What if, instead of frustration, we saw opportunity?

Easter is one of those unique moments in the year when people are more open – more willing to say yes to an invitation, more curious about faith, more open to stepping into a church space again. That once-a-year attendance isn’t something to dismiss – it’s something to build on.

It’s an open door.

A simple invitation – warm, personal, and genuine – can go further than we think:

“Hey, I’d love you to come to church with me this Easter.”

And from there, the journey doesn’t have to end.

That’s what’s so powerful about Alpha. It creates a space for people to continue exploring – to ask questions, share honestly, and discover what a real relationship with Jesus could look like in their everyday lives.

For many, Easter might be the first step back. Alpha can be the place where faith comes alive.

So as Easter approaches, who is one person you could reach out to?

Someone in your world who might be open. Someone who might simply be waiting for an invitation.

Invite them to church. Then invite them to keep exploring.

And if your church isn’t running an Alpha yet, maybe this is the moment in front of you. A chance to create space, to set the table, to make room for conversations that God could use to spark something real and lasting.

Because sometimes, all it takes is a different perspective – and one simple invitation – to change everything.
